Meaning of summarizing??

           Summarizing are the shorter version of a longer piece of writing by capturing all the most important parts of the original and expressing them in a shorter space. It can be known as précis, synopsis or paraphrase in expressing in own words without copy others words. Most important, to re-state the main purpose and provide easily-digestible information for readers as to gather all information or doing research.
          Summarizing being done with half of the original length. That is called as a summary. The steps to make a summary started with read the original and understand clearly the main purpose and make a short notes or marginal notes of the main ideas by referring toward the concepts and sentences inside. identifying all the information and relate with original's sentences ideas. Importantly to interact the purpose of a paragraph and topic within it.
         Moreover, combining a paragraph with all the points gather during marginal notes before and connecting with the ideas together. A summary should in concisely and accurately imagine and capture the main and central meaning of the original. Last but not least, all the words in summary should in your own words and re-read it again. Thus, this summary will re-create the meaning of the original in a way which makes sense for you.

Paraphrasing method??

This paraphrasing method included of three methods.
1) Chunking Method
      * used to paraphrase longer paragraph it is not easy to analyzed. Hence, chunk or split up original text into preferable part then take each sentences to define each meaning using own new words.
Eg. "Successful marketing strategies" will chunk into "effective advertising plans"
2) Retelling Method
     * used to diminish an original sentences and clarifying it meaning using own new words.
Eg. "If a population is to grow, the birth rate must be higher than the death rate" will retell into "There is population growth when the number of births exceeds deaths"
3) Grammar Help Method
     * used to alter grammar and vocabulary to build a new sentence structure by relocating the same meaning of the original sentence.
     * this help method comprised of
           • substitute some of the words with synonyms
           • change the verb to negative
           • change the voice from active sentences to passive sentences and vice versa
           • change the parts of speech
           • change verbs to nouns
           • change adverbs to adjectives
           • change adjectives to adverbs
           • move the parts of the sentence to change sentence structures
           • using sentence linkers

Let me explain a bit about paraphrasing.

Here there are...

Paraphrasing classified as other person's idea or sources and makes it as our own idea with own words. It is important as to differentiate between original's idea and restating idea. It needed as to avoid plagiarism. Good work means nothing if someone does plagiarism. No plagiarism!!

What is classified as good paraphrase??
A good paraphrase means work done by implementing good and acceptable work. There no assuming of plagiarism happened as each sentences structure comprised of new and originally made of.
There three siruations or fragments that someone should do to implement a good paraphrase which:
- new paraphrase sentence structure comprised of identical meaning as the original one
- new paraphrase sentence structure comprised of own ideas or words
- new paraphrase sentence structure included who and when it taken from (cite the original source)

Documenting evidence
     It starts with documentation which regards the system used to give pleasant toward sources,acknowledging of applying words, ideas, researchs of another author. It referred to three different styles of citing in particular discipline.
      Why important to document our research? Reasons? There three reasons which reader will noticed who done all ideas and research, avoiding from plagiarism and let reader knows to locate the original document which they interested.
      There three styles which commonly used:
 * MLA (Modern Language Association-humanities)
* APA (American Psychological Association-social & business disciplines)
* CBE (Council of BIology Editors-natural sciences)

Yes! I like it.

Wau or layang-layang famous among the Malays of Kelantan. Yes. Kelantan's my state and I'm kelantanese. Some of the world's largest and most beautiful kites were made in this state.

Kites, symbolism as connection to the human soul and to the operation of shamanism and magic. It reflected from a well-known tale, Dewa Muda who performed in makyong dance theater.

Malay decorative kites have variety shapes and most popular was Moon Kite (Wau Bulan) looks so attractive and beautiful. Others included Bird Kite (Wau Burung), Peacock Kite (Wau Merak) and Cat Kite (Wau Kucing). There varieties size of kites.

The kite frame was made from light and flexible bamboo. The frame being tied with strings and made shapes as we wanted. After frame completed, it covered with layers two or three layers of colorful paper.

As to recognize kites, suitable designations applied to the different parts of a kite. Example, a head (kepala), a waist (pinggang), wings (sayap) and a base (punggong).

What's an evaluating sources??

Evaluating sources can be done by referring to evaluating all sources and evaluating web sources.

Evaluating all sources.
- The signs of bias checking
  * Determine whether the publisher or author do not get involved in any religious or political views.
  * Determine whether there do not involve or associated with specials interest group.
  * Distinguish the fairly alternative that being presented and addressed with clearly on treat opposing treat of view.
- Assessing an argument
  * Classify who's central claim or thesis.
  * Set an additional support to in relevant and sufficient and without forced from anyone and others.
  * A forces that accepted without ant questionable.

Evaluating web sources
- Authorship
  * If the web site or document have an author, someone will click to find her/his name.
  * A knowledgeable and credible may be find among the person.
- Sponsorship
  * The name of anyone who make sponsor will happened will be accepted.
  * The domain name extension often indicates the type of group hosting the site.
  * Example: educational (edu.), commercial (com.) And government (gov.).
- Purpose and audience
  * Know the purpose of site created: to argue a position? To sell product?
  * Know who will intend to became audience.
- Currency
  * How current in this site? Check last update or date of publication to know about information given.
  * How current are the site's links? If there long times take to work, the site may be too dated for your purposes.

what exactly the evaluating sources??

PLAGIARISM.

What is plagiarism? There are lot of meaning that can be known of plagiarism. Plagiarism are copying, duplicate and make something that exactly same or exactly related with other writers or authors without any attribution and permission from the real owner and presenter. Aim of plagiarism are to have high desire to make projects, assignments and related works with huge expectation and excellent as others too. However, they misunderstanding by make it as references by creating and sharing ideas but simply copying and exactly to do same as the original.

Person who doing this plagiarism can be known as plagiarizer. A plagiarizer? A person who do not have sense of confident and applying such an unethical work. Unethical work as doing something from other's attribution and commitment by turn it as your own contribution. Such a pity person. being a cheater? Say No!

All information and knowledge from last and previous knowledge based on reading, analyzing, performing, recording details and results, consuming, drawing conclusion and discussion can be made by own but some people simply ignoring it. They preferred to choose a way that can ease and practical to them. By simply copying and pasting other works and attributions. It may look simple and easy but it too risk. Beware!

A plagiarizer can be punish by make it course failure, suspension or expulsion from recent academic institution. Such a horrible thing. Many ways to prevent from being charged a criminal of plagiarism. Always keep avoid from simply copying and pasting other works but make own original work. Furthermore, you may citing other works with full of respect but never take advantages to drag full of the other works.
